Inclusiv is aimed at solving a global challenge- to create an inclusive and accessible environment. Inclusiv is founded by a team of researchers, subject matter experts and professionals with decades of experience in resolving disability issues across the world. On the Global level, we align our mission to the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goals, SDG 8 is to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth , full and productive employement and decent work for all, SDG 10 reduce inequality within and among countries, SDG 11 Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable and the SDG 17 partnerships for the goals, calls for a global partnerships between govermnets, the private sector, and civil society to achieve sustainable development. On the regional level, an initiative by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD) launched Accessible India Campaign (Sugarmya Bharat Abhiyan) as a nation-wide Campaign for achieving universal accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

Dr Veena Shenoy
Founder & CEO
Dr Veena Shenoy, is the Founder and CEO at Inclusiv, a social impact start-up with a global mission of creating a barrier-free sustainable environment for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. Dr Shenoy’s passion for inclusion goes beyond her entrepreneurial endeavors. She represents the Women Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI) as the State President for the Karnataka Sustainable Development Goals Council, demonstrating her commitment to driving positive change at a systemic level. She also serves as the State Chair for the Diversity and Inclusion Wing of G100, further amplifying her voice in advocating for inclusivity.
With nearly two decades of experience spanning industry, academia, research and consultancy, Dr. Shenoy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table. Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) Surathkal Mangalore, and she is an active member of the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP). Her dedication to creating a more accessible and inclusive India was further recognized when she was selected as an inclusion fellow in 2023 by the India Inclusion Foundation, representing the country on the global stage.

Dr Angela David
Co-Founder
Dr. Angela David is an alumnus from St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. She is trained as a Paediatrician and a member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health(UK). She completed her Fellowship in Developmental Paediatrics from Centre for Child Development and Disabilities and started working as a developmental paediatrician in Rainbow Children’s Hospital.
She is instrumental in setting up a Child Development Centre in the hospital that caters to early detection and intervention in developmental delays of high-risk babies and young children. She later started her very own child friendly early intervention centre called New Beginnings Early Intervention Centre for Children. The centre is dedicated for the diagnosis and treatment of developmental delays from birth to early childhood years.
She has a dedicated team that does standardised assessments, creates individualised programmes for intervention and therapies in young children. She conducts parenting and child development workshops in schools and in the community to spread awareness about child rearing practices and techniques to improve developmental outcomes in young children.
Ambassadors
Nilesh Singit
Nilesh Singit is a disability rights advocate, accessibility expert, and advocate for inclusive communities and an avid supporter of free open source software, promoting accessibility in such software. With a Master’s degree in English from the University of Bombay and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights, Nilesh has dedicated his career to championing the rights and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
Nilesh’s extensive experience spans various organizations, including the Able Disabled All People Together Rights Group (ARG), Disability Rights Initiative [HRLN], Disability Research & Design Foundation, and the Centre for Disability Studies at NALSAR University. He has held key positions such as IT Officer, Group Head of Attitudes & Awareness, Coordinator, Executive Director, and Research & Advocacy Officer.
Nilesh’s contributions to the field of disability rights are multifaceted. He has conducted accessibility audits for prestigious institutions and historical sites. His expertise has been instrumental in ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting inclusive environments.
Additionally, Nilesh has been actively involved in training programs, seminars, and conferences on disability law, UNCRPD, and inclusive education. He has participated in drafting of Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016, guidelines, and policies related to disability rights and accessibility.
Nilesh’s dedication extends beyond professional roles – he has been part of Public Interest Litigations leading to significant changes in accessibility for persons with disabilities. An open source software advocate, he works towards making such software accessible.
Shikha Agarwal
Meet Shikha Uma Agarwal, a remarkable female lawyer who defies limitations with her indomitable spirit. Despite using a wheelchair due to a disability, she refuses to let anything hinder her passion for advocacy and justice. Working towards disability rights, she works tirelessly to ensure accessibility for all, championing diverse issues within the disability sector, including mobility, accommodation and inclusion.
Beyond her legal career, Shikha extends her compassion to support acid attack survivors and the LGBTQ+ community, striving to amplify their voices and rights. Her multifaceted interests reflect her vibrant personality: from experimenting with culinary creations to adorning spaces with her decorating prowess, she finds joy in every detail.
As an avid reader, she immerses herself in diverse literary worlds, constantly expanding her horizons and knowledge. Driven by her innate talent, she also expresses herself through her written words, sometimes shedding light on certain issues engaging in meaningful conversations, and sometimes pursues writing to satiate her creative satisfaction.
With unwavering determination and boundless empathy, she embodies resilience and empowerment and strongly campaigns for people to embrace their uniqueness and pursue their dreams relentlessly.
Ar. Kavya Balajepalli
Ar. Kavya Poornima Balajepalli is researching and advocating for Universal Accessibility in Public Spaces. She is a graduate architect from the University of Mumbai and registered as an Architect with the Council of Architecture. Currently, she is pursuing the NCPEDP-Javed Abidi Fellowship on Disability, focusing on data-driven and evidence-based research and advocacy for Universal Accessibility in Leisure, Recreational, and Cultural Spaces (Rushikonda Blue Flag Beach) and Mandatory Inclusion of Universal Design in the Architecture Curriculum.
Kavya has presented her work at various local, national, and international forums, including G20 India, Global Disability Summit Youth, International Purple Fest, IIT Roorkee, NILERD, NIUA, UN India, Symbiosis Law School, and Jindal Global Business School, among many others, to highlight various issues pertaining to universal accessibility and related themes. She has curated ‘We All Belong’ and ‘It’s Our Beach Too’ Campaigns focusing on Universal Accessibility and the initiation of Sigamya Bharat Abhiyan 2.0. She also co-curated the ‘Charter of Demands: Call to Action for Disability Justice,’ highlighting the ten key demands concerning the disability community, ‘Believe in the Invisible’ to bring the discourse on invisible disabilities in India through storytelling, and ‘Sustainable Solutions Towards Inclusion’ to bring transformative solutions based on data-driven and evidence-based research, among many other initiatives.
She is empanelled as a Committee Member in the District Level Committee on Disability in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Kavya is the ideator, founder, and curator of ‘Poornamidam,’ an online initiative that explores various themes at the intersection of Architecture, Environment, and Disability. She lives with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH), a rare neurological condition that resulted in late blindness. She is also the founder and Curator of ‘IIH Warriors India,’ an online patient support and advocacy group that brings together individuals with IIH.
She has co-authored an article on ‘Climate-Resilient and Accessible Architecture’ for the Harvard Law School Project on Disability and contributed to the UN India-NIUA’s policy brief on ‘Gender and Disability Inclusion in Urban Development.’ She has also published field reports on Blue Flag Beaches and factsheets on the Accessible India Campaign.
